JENNIFER MORFIN
FOUNDER + CEO
Jennifer Morfin was born and raised in Ventura County, California. She is a proud daughter of Mexican immigrant parents. She is an educator and an activist for Latina students pursuing a career in law. Jennifer holds a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Business and Communication from Arizona State University and is a current 1L at the Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law.
Since high school, Jennifer has sought meaningful experience in the legal industry. She gained experience in Business Law and Personal Injury Law before starting law school. While in law school, Jennifer currently works at an HOA Law Frim in Woodland Hills, CA. Jennifer is passionate about becoming an active advocate for her community and a resource for future generations through mentorship. Her mission is not to only diversify the legal industry but to ensure students from underrepresented communities are given the support and resources necessary to succeed in the legal field.
ADRIANA CELAYA
FAMILY + COMMUNITY LIAISON
Adriana Celaya was born in Mexico, and raised in Ventura County, California. Adriana is involved in the planning and execution of our weekend workshops and helps curate other spaces that promote education and empowerment to the next generation of Latinas in law. She is also the liaison between our organization, students, and community. Adriana focuses her efforts on outreach to our community to find the best opportunities for our students and work with local families to bring in the best students for our program.
ASHLEY CELAYA
DIGITAL + CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Ashley Celaya was born and raised in Oxnard, California. She is a proud daughter of Mexican parents. Ashley is a student at Channel Islands High School where she has obtained training in digital photography and content creation. Ashley explores various styles of digital creation in her personal life.
Ashley uses her creativity, talents, and skills to create an educational and empowering community for the Latinas in law. Ashley is the girl behind Leading Lawtinas logo, branding, and web development.
YVETTE CUEVAS
EDUCATION + EXTERNAL AFFAIRS DIRECTOR
Yvette Cuevas is a Ventura County native and assists in Leading Lawtinas efforts to prepare students for a successful future in law and provide internship and scholarship opportunities for the next generation of Latinas in Law. She is proud to serve her community and believes in giving back while also being a full-time mom of two and a full-time office manager in Thousand Oaks, California.
JOANA VALDOVIONS
COMMUNICATIONS + MARKETING ASSOCIATE
Joanna Valdovinos is a Ventura County native who obtained her Associate Degree from Ventura College and has a passion for marketing and giving back to the community. In her studies, she has explored the intersection of communication and marketing, specifically how combining the two can lead to a greater outreach for Non-profit organizations.
PAULETTE ZINZUN
COMMUNITY ORGANIZER
Paulette Zinzun is an Arizona State University graduate with a degree in Political Science, a minor in Transborder Studies, and two certificates in International Relations and Political Entrepreneurship.
Having interned at the Arizona State Senate, Paulette gained insight on the legislative process at the state level, where she was also exposed to pressing issues that pertain to her community. During that time, Paulette began thinking of ways to solve those issues and started connecting with local organizations to raise awareness.
Paulette aspires to connect with community leaders to learn how to implement solutions to making legal education attainable for Latina students.
